Primary one and two are learning about the importance of washing our hands. Today we practiced washing our hands correctly. We washed the front, back and sides of our hands and in between our fingers using soap and warm water.
We also carried out an experiment using fresh white bread. Bread number one the children did not touch. Mrs McKernan used a plastic bag over her hands and placed the bread in the bag. Bread number two the children touched with unwashed hands. Bread number three was touched by hands that had been washed with just water. Bread number four was touched by hands washed with soap and water. The final piece of bread was touched by hands that had been washed with a hand sanitizer. We will closely observe the change in the bread over the next few weeks.
The children predicted that the bread that was touched by dirty hands will go off first. Let’s wait and see the results!!!
