P7 Pupils Prepare for the World Cup Cultural Sports Day
12th Jun 2013
On Friday 14th June, all our P7's will be heading to Armagh to parade through the city. They have been designing their banners and jerseys for the big day. The pupils will march as part of a huge parade celebrating cultural diversity. This project is an annual event run by the Armagh Council and after the march they will spend the day at the Palace Stables where they will play in a Fun World Cup. Each school has been nominated to represent a country. Darkley will represent China and in preparation for this event, pupils took part in a China cultural awareness workshop a few weeks ago. Over the last few weeks they have been busy designing their own Pom poms, t-shirts, banners and dance moves. Throughout the day, pupils will play football and take part in the many games and activities on display such as rodeo bull, an inflatable assault course, skills challenges, quizzes and puzzles. It will be a wonderful day to remember and parents are invited to come and attend the day if they wish to share in the experience. More photos can be found in our gallery section as well as the school video clips area. Have a look. We wish all the boys and girls well.
